Dear RAP Family,
It’s that time again — summer is on the horizon, and the Rap America Project is ready to inspire, educate, and amplify young voices across Idaho and beyond. Here’s everything you need to know about last year’s impact and what’s in store for 2025.
2024 Highlights: Beats, Growth & First Performances
- Hunter Walgamott guided youth through the art of beatmaking on the Akai MPC Live, empowering them with real production knowledge.
- Local artist and mentor Cornell “Zero” Johnson brought heart and inspiration — he’s back again this year, alongside Rick Oliver of the Boise Hive, who generously shared behind-the-scenes industry insights.
- Shoutout to RAP alum Aspect, who’s now recording at Maestre Arts and making big moves — proof that this work matters.
- Guest artist Wins stopped by for a day and gave stage presence tips, feedback on people’s songs, and performed live.
- And perhaps most powerful of all: several youth created and performed their own songs — for the very first time.
